Did you know at The Joy of Travel we don't recommend anywhere we haven't tried first. We make it our priority to travel all over the world, several times a year.

Mexico:
Mexico is our top selling destination and we personally travel there several times annually. Cancun is an area that is especially popular with people from the mid-west. It's fast and easy to get there, as well as inexpensive. The Cancun/Riviera Maya/Playa Mujeres/Tulum areas offer wonderful adult-only as well as family-friendly resorts on amazing beaches. The excursions in the area seem to be countless, from cultural to nature lover experiences and everything in between. We especially love swimming with the whale sharks and are happy to add that adventure to your next trip. Ask us about Mexico-we know it like we know our own hometowns, and we love it!
Europe:
We've been to Europe more times than we can count, and personally escort tours there every year. Europe has it all: culture, history, great food, adventure. We simply love European destinations, and have the expertise to plan the best individual itineraries for you as well as amazing escorted trips. You just can't beat a tour of Italy. Our agents have escorted several groups across Italy since 2005 and they are always a huge success. The phenomenal history, the delectable cuisine, the gorgeous countryside. There's no place more wonderful than Italy.
The UK/Ireland is a great choice for first timers since there is no language barrier and the food and sites are fantastic. Our agent have escorted so many tours of Ireland, Scotland, the UK etc that we've literally lost count. These tours are always great fun and end with amazing customer reviews.
No matter what people try to tell you, the French love Americans. Our agents host tours as well as river cruises there, and everyone always falls in love with France. From fascinating history to gorgeous landscapes, France is a beautiful country with a lot to offer American tourists.
A grand tour of Europe is also an excellent choice for a first timers to the Old World. Whether it's a river cruise or a luxury motorcoach tour, checking famous places off of your "bucket list" across Europe is great fun.
Spain and Portugal are the new "hot spots" in Europe, and should be on every bucket list.

The Caribbean:
We're big on the Caribbean at The Joy of Travel and all of our agents have been all over it.
For easy access and affordability, Jamaica is going to be your best choice and it's a wonderful choice. If you've only seen Jamaica from a cruise liner in Montego Bay, you haven't seen the real Jamaica. The lush eastern side of the island (east of Montego Bay) is more tropical, and offers the top resorts brands. There are also more excursions in this area, for those of you who want to have experiences off of the resort. The golf courses here are greener, and frankly, better. There are many intimate coves and the water is sublime. We love eastern Jamaica. West of Montego Bay, all the way to Negril and beyond, it's more arid. The water quality is still phenomenal, and the people are the friendliest you've ever met. Seven mile beach in Negril is world renowned, and for a reason, it's simply spectacular. The western side of Jamaica should be on every "to do" list.
Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic has become a huge destination for our customers. Fast, inexpensive flights have made the DR very attractive and all of the major resort brands have wonderful properties there. Our entire agency spent 9 days touring resorts in the Dominican Republic. Ask us about the DR, we know the answers.
St. Lucia and Antigua are great options for those of you with a more adventurous spirit. They are a bit more complicated to get to, and are more expensive because of it. The marine life is better on Antigua than on St. Lucia. Turks and Caicos has a water quality unequaled anywhere in the world. The Bahamas are a shoppers paradise, and add that fabulous Caribbean water as a bonus. Exuma is an over the top way to get away from it all. The Caribbean is all about water, and whether you want your water with nightlife or solitude, there's an island and a resort in the Caribbean that's perfect for you.
Hawaii
Hawaii is, and always will be, one of our favorite destinations. Joy has been traveling to this tropical paradise for decades. In fact she and Doug were married there. Our agents travel to Hawaii frequently and are confirmed Hawaii Specialists.
