Seydisfjordur is home to Iceland’s oldest operating hydroelectric power station built in 1906, the power station harnesses the energy of the surrounding waterfalls and the majority of the surrounding area runs off of this sustainable sources of energy. 

GRUNDARJFJORDUR, ICELAND

Often referred to as the “Town of Waterfalls”, this nickname comes from the numerous cascading falls in the surrounding area, including the stunning Kirkjufellsfoss, which flows beautiful in the foreground of Kirfjufell mountain – making it one of the most photographed spots in all of Iceland.  With it’s vibrant harbor, cozy cafes, and stunning coastal scenery, the picturesque fishing town is a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
