Who would love some alone time?

2024 is going down as the year of the solo traveler.

We usually have about 10% of our escorted groups filled by customers who travel solo.  We admire the courage of people who are willing to join a group, make new friends, and see the world on their own.

But there are other interesting ways solo travel is peaking this year.

One of my biggest requests this year has been from women who just want “alone” time.  They want to go somewhere to relax, take in some spa treatments, soak up the sand, sea, and sun, read a book, and enjoy being catered to by an accommodating staff.  Easily accomplished, in safety and security.  And honestly, for a surprising affordable price point.

Globus tours have a line that I love. “On a Globus tour you never travel alone.”  Over almost 20 years I’ve lost count of the number of solo travelers I’ve put on both Globus fully escorted tours, and Avalon Waterways River cruises.  Without fail they always make new friends, enjoy the experience on their own terms, and are glad they took the chance.  I am always able to alert the tour or cruise director that my customer is traveling solo and to watch out for her.  Works like a charm.

In addition to solo travel, ladies’ groups are huge this year as well.  We have booked ladies groups on wonderful getaways this year like they’re on fire.  Whether they are beach trips or full blow European tours or river cruises, ladies are bonding, blooming, and traveling as never before.

We don’t see many men requesting solo travel.  They just prefer to go hunting or fishing.  Many times, we see ladies’ groups who are traveling when their men are going on hunting trips.  Why not?

Whether you want to travel alone, within a tour or cruise itinerary, or with a group of friends, we can arrange so many wonderful, affordable choices for you.  Let us know the wish list, and we’ll be glad to put together an amazing adventure just for you.
