Where can I go and for how much?

Let’s talk about where you can go and for how much.  First-please remember airfare is up almost 45%.  So whatever amount you’ve paid in the past isn’t going to cut the mustard for the foreseeable future.

We also need to remember that USA travel is more expensive than almost anywhere else on earth.  If you have a valid passport you’ll be able to take advantage of much more enticing pricing in exotic locations.  Those are the offers I’ll be mentioning in this article.

$1000 per person.   Where can you go for that amount?

Mexico, especially the Cancun area, always get us the most bang for our buck if we fly from the Midwest.  I just priced a three-night trip in November to a nice adult-only all-inclusive resort right on a great beach in Cancun.  With great air from OKC, round trip transfers and cancel for a future travel credit (not cash back) insurance it’s coming in at just over $1000 per person.  If we dropped that down to a family resort we can get there for under $1000 per person, or extend to a four night stay.  The room category I priced is on the back side of the resort, facing the highway.  If you want to upgrade to an oceanview room and private transfers you’re only adding $100 and greatly enhancing the quality of your experience.

Where can you go for $2000 per person?  Now we can lengthen the time frame and stay 4-6 nights depending on the location and how early you book the trip.  Last minute bookings are more expensive.

My favorite adult-only resort in the Dominican Republic, this fall for 5 nights, in a pool view jr suite with great air from OKC, round trip transfers, travel insurance (voucher, not cash back) and of course it’s all-inclusive is right on mark at $2000 per person.  If you don’t mind a gardenview room we can come in under that budget.  And if you don’t mind a family friendly resort we can come in well under, and even add another night.

Where can you go for $4000 per person?  At this price point the world is really going to open up for you.  You can go on a one week escorted tour in Europe, Asia or South America, You can hop onboard a one week river cruise (in an entry level cabin) and even go back to a fun in the sun location but in a private villa or oceanfront room with a private pool and butler.

There are some wonderful ocean cruises with luxurious cabins and exotic ports of call that come in between $4-6,000 per person.

Right now I have a family of four (all over 18) on a two week tour of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.  It was just over $26,000 for the entire family.

Where can you go for $10,000 per person?  How about a three-week European tour, a two week river cruise, or a luxury train trip?

At $15,000 per person you can join me on my all-inclusive two week private tour of Kenya and Tanzania with Nairobi with first class flights.

If you are traveling with children we can often take advantage of “kids stay free” promotions so their only cost is the flight.  Children also get a discount price on most tours and river cruises.

As you can see, there are great vacations at almost every price point.  Whether you go for three nights or three weeks, a get-away is always a welcome break from the day to day drudgery, isn’t it?
