Recap of Birthday Bash 2022

Joy Gawf-Crutchfield

I have always loved celebrating my birthday. Another birthday is better than the alternative, right?

Since opening the agency back in 2005 I have made it a priority to celebrate my birthdays at resorts.  What could be easier?  All of the fun, none of the work.

You’ve heard of destination weddings I’m sure.  Destination birthday parties are so much easier.  After all, you already know the date.  All you must do is pick the location.

If your birthday is during the first quarter, which is high season in most tropical destinations (including Mexico and Hawaii), you might want to consider a European trip.  That’s low season there, great pricing and no crowding.  Imagine enjoying a birthday cupcake under the Eiffel Tower.  That’s a birthday you’ll never forget, isn’t it?  You will not believe how affordable it is.

If your birthday is second quarter, it’s low season in most tropical destinations in April and May.  A great time to take advantage of excellent weather, excellent pricing, and no crowds.  June birthdays, like mine, need to plan in advance to get the best pricing.  The resort was 100% full during my birthday last month.  Early booking is essential.

April and May travel to Europe is far less expensive than June-August, so you can still enjoy that cupcake in Paris at a good price point, without the crowds, if you can travel during that time frame.

Third quarter summer birthdays are more complicated.  That’s high demand in both tropical and European destinations.  Early planning, and I suggest 9 months in advance minimum, is the key to the best pricing and availability.

Fourth quarter travel is terrific.  Any time after September is low season almost everywhere in the world.  If you’re planning on a tropical trip consider weather (September-October hurricanes) of course, but pricing and availability is excellent right through the middle of December.

If you haven’t considered travel for your birthday, maybe it’s time to entertain the notion.  Whether you go only with your significant other, or include a group of friends, taking a trip for your birthday will prove to be a wonderful experience and one you’ll want to repeat year after year.

I’m already planning mine for June 2023.  Join me?
