Here at The Joy of Travel we are failing

We are failing to be sure you know that our trips are not “pay in full” at the time of booking.  

The ability to have a payment plan on a trip is a huge upside to booking with us.  You can make a deposit on your debit or credit card, and either wait until the final payment is due, or make monthly payments.

I absolutely hate to recommend that anyone buy anything on credit.  But the reality is the vast majority of our customers cannot pay off a trip outright.

I happen to think vacations are important.  They are important for our mental health.  They are important for family memories.  They are important for couples' relationships.  I know I personally needed our trip to Cancun back in July.  Pretty desperately, in fact.  You can just imagine how 2020 has been going for me, can’t you?  Ha ha

How much would you benefit from having a trip to look forward to right now?  Anticipation can be a beautiful thing.  

Are vacations so important it's worth buying it on credit?  It's not my place to decide.  It is my obligation to provide the information and allow you to make that decision for yourself.  You may actually be under so much pressure right now that a vacation on credit is more important than no vacation.  I have most certainly been there.  

It's the same thing with COVID.  Is it worth risking getting exposed to COVID to take a trip?  For me, if I'm going to get it, I want to get it from a trip, not a morning at the grocery store, or an afternoon at the movies.  

I know agencies that feel like it's irresponsible to be advertising trips right now and they are laying low.  I don't presume to make decisions for our customers, so I'm not going down that road.  I think it's irresponsible to avoid telling our customers about current safety measures, incredibly low pricing, etc.  But honestly, I understand agencies that feel that way and it's not my place to tell them how to run their businesses.  To each his own.

At some point this current situation is going to turn around.  At some point the trips you book will not be canceled.  At some point you will feel safe about travel.  And when you’re ready, The Joy of Travel will be here for you.  We will be here with amazing deals, great recommendations to places we’ve actually experienced firsthand, AND the capability to pay of the trip over a period of time.
