Milestone Events
June, 1959. Do the math. 65 years ago. It can’t be true, but it is. Maybe if I type it as sixty-five? No, just as incredible.
I will be 65 years old next month. 35 seems like it was only a few months ago. Where did the time go?
Big events, milestone events, seem to be coming continually these days. Leigh Ann, my daughter and business manager, is celebrating her Fjordieth Birthday with a trip to the Norwegian Fjords onboard a Silversea vessel next month. She’ll write a blog about it upon her return for your enjoyment.
I am celebrating my 65th with a trip on the Seabourn Venture next month as well, the 11 day Svalbard-Beyond the North Cape itinerary. We fly into the northernmost part of Norway, Tromso, and venture even farther north to a remote island chain that offers a truly astonishing array of wildlife. See the itinerary map below. Amazing, isn’t it?
The daily zodiac adventures with one of the 24 onboard Expedition Team will be very similar to our African Safari experience. You just get up, gear up, and go each day, looking forward to the incredible events about to unfold.

Africa in 2023 was our 20th wedding anniversary trip. I mention that because I wonder if you’ve taken the time to check your own calendar and considered beyond the usual trips for your upcoming milestone events?
For big celebrations and milestone events, planning is everything. These more over-the-top adventures tend to fill up months, if not years, in advance. Early booking is essential. As is early budgeting since these are usually more expensive than your annual trip allowance.
