Here’s my Bucket List

You know I have a ten year bucket list, right? In fact since opening The Joy of Travel in 2005 I’ve worked my way through one and have now started chipping away at the second. I wanted to share the current one with you today so you could see where my future personally escorted tours are going to be going and hopefully arrange your schedule so you can join in the fun.

By the way, this list will not be experienced in the order below. I make my list and then take advantage of the best savings and deals, which means I frequently see places that were at the bottom of my list before seeing the places that were at the top.

#1 Neuschwanstein Castle.

It’s been at the top of my list for years and I finally found a tour that also included lots of other great places I wanted to see. I’m escorting this tour in May; it’s a great price point at $2089 per person. I have 6 seats remaining and hope you can join me.

#2 The Main, Rhine and Moselle Rivers.

I am confirming that one this week. It will be happening October 24-November 2, 2019, we are just waiting for the group discounted pricing. This is a ten day trip (7 night river cruise ending with 2 nights in Prague). I have been to Prague before and can’t wait to see some of the things I missed the first time.

#3 Greece-the heartland.

I will be escorting this one at the end of April 2020. This amazing tour includes the interior of Greece for a full week of escorted touring and then a three night Aegean cruise that includes Patmos, Mykonos, Santorini, Ephesus and Crete. Yes, I’ve cruised the Greek Isles before and those are my favorite ports. Our interior sites will include Athens of course, as well as Corinth, Delphi, Meteora, Mycenae, Thermopylae and more. Price is $3242 per person for this 10 night trip. I already have 18 people signed up for this one.

#4 The Duoro from Lisbon to Porto.

I do not have this schedule as yet but it will be coming in the next couple of years. I may very well add a land tour to this river cruise just so we can see all of Portugal in one great trip.

#5 The Dordogne, Gironne and Gironde

Chateau country has been one of my favorites for years and I can’t wait to return again, this time cruising on these gorgeous rivers.

#6 The Danube from Budapest to Bucharest.

Talk about an adventure-not scheduled yet but I can’t wait! It’s a river cruise but of course we can add extra nights in Budapest or Bucharest.

#7 Tulip Time River Cruise.

I can’t wait to see some of the most famous gardens in the world in peak season. It’s not scheduled yet but it is certainly going to be.

#8 The Elbe.

What a marvelous river cruise for nature lovers, perfect fit for those of us who loved our Alaskan cruise. This one will have to be done during a year when there has been sufficient rainfall, it gets a little tricky.

#9 Sicily-the whole island.

#10 Spain-the whole thing-can’t wait!

#11 Croatia-the whole thing

#12 Northern Italy-focus on the Cinque Terre area

#13 Southern Italy

#14 Switzerland by train-it makes a big loop

#15 Jordan and Israel-the highlights of our Christian faith.

#16 Africa-wildlife viewing is the predominant motivation for this one.

#17 Egypt-the pyramids of course

Do you see anything on my list that is also on yours? Of course I have 14 other agents here who also have bucket lists and may be offering some destinations that I won’t be. For instance Machu Picchu, the Galapagos, etc.
